Abstract genius Lee Krasner once said that she hated painting yellow. She tried to paint in yellows but they would never come and always became another colour. Perhaps it was the gloom and chaos and conflict of living under the shadow of the alcoholic painter Jackson Pollock. I’m the opposite, yellow always sneaks into my paintings no matter how much I try to resist it. Yellow is one of the most joyful colours I know.
